Facilities Strategic Space Planner (Early/Mid-Career)

Are you a high-energy individual looking to join a dynamic and high performing team? Sandia's Centralized Space Management Program wants you to join our team! You will apply technical expertise to evaluate capability of existing sites, facilities, and infrastructure to meet programmatic needs.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Use available data sources to prepare studies, projections, reports, and presentations for customer facility and space needs, corporate capital investments, and site development.
Develop and execute space scenario and optimization planning. These include moves, major renovation, co-location, consolidation, leasing and new construction.
Collaborate with customers and division Strategic Partnership Planners to coordinate and align space strategies and plans with division priorities, and corporate long-range development plans.
Lead Strategic Space studies, such as Telecommuting; Conference Room, Laboratory and Storage Space Utilization; Uncleared, New Hire and Student Space; and Co-location and Functional Realignment.
Partner with Facilities Projects, and Operations Teams to execute space plans and projects.
Forecast, program and plan for space needs. Concisely, and accurately communicate study methodologies, analyses, and recommendations to customers and management.
Develop, maintain and implement corporate space guidelines, policies and procedures.
Mentor and lead Tactical Space Planners and support staff to meet customer expectations.
Develop and maintain Strategic Centralized Space Management Plan.
Bachelorâ€™s degree plus five or more years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Experience in planning for and managing space at a medium to large institution.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop long-range solutions and plans for customers.
Technical and professional certifications in Engineering, Project Management, Architecture, Facility/Property Management, or Urban/Regional Planning.
Experience with architectural programming and project development.
Experience using a Facility Management System (Tririga, Archibus, FAMIS, etc.)
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with a broad range of management and staff.
Experience with space standards (BOMA, PEFIC), occupancy classifications and space categories.
Demonstrated teaming abilities.
Ability to understand and interpret architectural, mechanical, electrical and civil documents, drawings and schematics.

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) granted Q-level security clearance.
