This position requires skills at the highest levels of Purchasing, Manufacturing Planning, Production Scheduling, Capacity Planning, Resource Planning, and Strategic Planning.
Primary Responsibilities for Role:
Maps out the end-to-end process on the shop floor through the individual resources and converts to process maps utilizing Microsoft Visio or other software tools.
Utilizes demonstrated planning rates to calculate and identify the constraint within a grouping of resources for a given mix of products in a production run.
Works directly with engineering and production personnel to understand theoretical capacity and decoupling of current constraints that will move constraints up or downstream.
Collaborates cross-functionally with marketing, finance and the global supply chain to understand requirements and capabilities as inputs to mathematical models for business scenarios.
Builds mathematical models to determine weeks of supply required to hold as a hedge against the variability of demand.
Facilitates Supply Network Planning meetings with the manufacturing team to reveal the number of production hours required in the manufacturing facilities for the planning horizon.
Leads the planning effort with the Warehouse and Transportation team regarding the number of pallet spaces required within the distribution centers and volume movements on STO lanes for a rolling 12-month period.
Conducts ongoing development of finished goods and intermediate inventory strategies to determine cost-effective use of inventory investment while optimizing manufacturing performance.
Monitor supply chain KPI performance on a daily basis with reporting as needed.
Provide daily communication between Sales, Supply Chain, Finance and Operations.
Key member of the S&OP meeting and effectively conveys the manufacturing, inventory, warehousing, and transportation constraints to Sr Management for strategic planning purposes.
May be asked to represent entire Supply Chain Organization in an executive environment. Must be capable of organizing data and creating PowerPoint presentations oriented towards an executive audience.
BS in Supply Chain Management, APICs Certification, or related experience that demonstrates capabilities equal to the educational requirements.
10 plus years experience in related Supply Chain disciplines.
Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalency could include 8 years of experience, an Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience.
