Carnegie Mellon University's department of Parking & Transportation group is looking to add an excellent team member in the role of Administrative Associate/Parking Coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing essential support with daily administrative duties, including frontline customer service, entering information in parking database system, preparing visitor reservations for University groups, trouble shoot any gate issues reported by customers and communicate back to appropriate stakeholders.

It is the mission of Parking and Transportation Services to provide high quality parking and transportation resources to the University community. With a focus on well-maintained, safe and secure areas, we aim to be responsive and provide effective and efficient customer service.

Core responsibilities will include:

* Answer phones and direct incoming calls, assist walk-in customers at the Parking office, and respond to emails from customers;
* Process reservations requests - Access Codes, Congress Cards, Daily Validations, Even Requests;
* Assist Garage Supervisor with pay stations that are not properly functioning, as well as calling HUB for trouble shooting;
* Maintain daily lot of off-campus permit customers;
* Enter ticket payments as directed by P&TS Staff Accountant/void any approved tickets as well as management of adjudication process/ Update any account information in Parking system;
* Confirm vehicles that needed booted and dispatch towing company
* Assist with labeling/sorting/stuffing/mailing of permits and office administrative tasks; and
* Contact Service Response for various facilities issues

You should demonstrate:

* Excellent problem-solving and reasoning skills
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
* Excellent ability to maintain accurate and detailed records
* Excellent clerical, analytical, and problem solving skills including the ability to proofread materials for spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors
* Ability to maintain composure when taking care of difficult situations and/or individuals
* Ability to handle multiple tasks at a time with frequent interruptions
* Ability to work well with others and as part of a team

Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Minimum three years of office, administrative, customer service or related experience required; will consider a combination of education level and experience
* Demonstrated experience with basic computer skills (Windows); ability to use word processing (Microsoft Word), spreadsheets (Excel), databases and other software packages
* Demonstrated experience with cash management and confidential information
