\rThe Financial Planning Manager is responsible for improving financial decision-making across the organization by managing the hospital’s long range planning process, developing business plans and complex models, supporting the Financial Decision Support and Long Range Planning systems as well as Enterprise reporting and analytics tools.  \r\r\rThe Financial Planning Manager must work collaboratively with peers internal and external to support Enterprise financial, operational and strategic goals. This role reports to the Director of Financial Planning and is a key resource to the Vice President of Financial Strategy, the Strategic Planning Leadership, the CHOP CFO, and others in the CHOP Executive Leadership Team. The Financial Planning Manager coordinates her/his activities with the Senior Finance Partners, the Strategy Team, Corporate Finance and others to ensure the most accurate and informative financial planning for the Enterprise.\r\rJob Responsibilities\r\r
\rFinancial Long Range and Strategic Business Plan development\r\r\rManage the annual and off cycle analytical needs and refreshes of the 7 year long range financial planning process.\r\rOrganize assumptions, data and drivers including key volumes, gross revenues, payor mix,  labor and non-labor expenses, including all capital plans needed for the 7 Year Plan from Corporate Finance teams, Research, Foundation and Practice Plans.\rValidate approved business plan assumptions with Field Finance team. \rAcquire financial data from primary or secondary sources and maintain databases/data/systems to update and manage the strategic planning software.\rMonitor, edit, and audit data and reports related to long range planning process/functions.\rMaintain up-to-date knowledge of Obligated and Controlled Entity structures to ensure proper representation in the long range planning process.\rSupport the coordination and integration of the 7 year plan into the annual budget process.\rEstablish/maintain quarterly rolling forecasts of long range financial information, as needed.\rIdentify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.\r\r\rParticipate in Strategic Financial Planning processes\r\rUse critical thinking skills to recognize opportunities, report on the financial impact of proposed actions and work with Leaders to develop business strategies.\rParticipate in the preparation of detailed financial analysis and reporting required to evaluate potential business opportunities and support strategic financial planning initiatives.\rCreate financial models based upon strategic assumptions using data and drivers from Corporate Finance, Strategic and Operations teams.\rSupport financial planning, accounting and reporting processes for Frontier Programs across the Enterprise.\rWork with leaders in Research, Practice Plans and Strategy and Business Development to develop budgets and forecasts, participate in reporting actual results and creates an Enterprise wide view for reporting for financial results and statistical volumes.\r\r\r\r\rJob Responsibilities (Continued)\r\r
\r\r\rSupport Enterprise Service Line Reporting and Profitability \r\r\rSupport the promotion of Service Line reporting to inform profitability, improve costing processes, inform business plans and promote improved decision making for Operational Leaders.\rWork with Financial Analytics teams to continuously improve and develop financial reporting tools provided to Operational Leaders to support decision making.\rSupport analytical needs of the CHOP’s reporting, budget and planning processes.\rSupport clinical service line financial analyses requiring fully allocated cost data.\rProvide analysis of financial data, including clinical service line reporting, trend analysis, proformas, and forecasts, and the monitoring of key financial metrics.\r\r\r\r\rCustomer Service \r\r\rDevelop and maintain relationships across the CHOP Enterprise. \rActively seeks input from members of the Operations, Practice Plans, Foundation, Research and Finance teams when appropriate.\rDeliver financial and strategic insights across business units.\rFacilitate an openly communicative environment, responds timely and promotes the generation of creative thinking and commitment to business process improvement.\r\r\rRequired Licenses, Certifications, Registrations\r\r

\rRequired Education: Bachelors in Accounting or Finance\r\r\r\rRequired Experience: 6-8 years of experience with analytics and planning, service line profitability, financial and forecasting concepts.\r\rPreferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic\r\r
\rPreferred Education: Masters\r\r\r\rPreferred Experience: Healthcare experience\r\rAdditional Technical Requirements\r\r
\r\rKnowledge of ERP Payroll, Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Supply Chain modules, Workforce Analytics, EPIC, Microsoft products, Business Objects, Strata Jazz, Databases Allscripts or other Budget and Financial Decision Support platforms, Qlikview applications.\rStrong problem solving skills and analytical skills with ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.\rStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex finances to different audiences.\rKnowledge of accounting concepts, budget processes and integrated and automated financial systems preferred.\r\r\rAll CHOP employees who work in a patient building or who provide patient care are required to receive an annual influenza vaccine unless they are granted a medical or religious exemption.\r\rChildren's Hospital of Philadelphia is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for its patients, family members, visitors and employees.
