Summary:
The Sales, Strategy and Planning Manager, Innovation Excellence will support the retail go-to-market strategy and launch preparation for all Hillshire Farm, Hillshire Snacking and Aidells branded innovation launches.
This individual will represent the customer perspective throughout new product development and support the customer sell-in process by creating and presenting critical sales materials, inclusive of gathering shopper, consumer, and category insights to help build a cohesive sell-in story for Hillshire Farm, Hillshire Snacking and Aidells Innovations. Once products are in market this person will track and report on launch effectiveness, and work with the greater SS&P Innovation team to continuously seek launch process improvement.
Responsibilities include:
Provide strategic insights throughout the innovation go-to-market process; inform the teams on changing market dynamics and share customer feedback
Facilitate new items pipeline forecasts through NIF (New Items Forecast) and APEX
Track customer resets and new item presentation timing against Tyson launch windows for the Backwall Categories
Support all facets of the innovation launch process, inclusive of gathering sales material development, managing samples, assist building sell story. Collaborate with innovation partners to develop sell sheets and where applicable, packaging flats or POGs for all new item launches
Maintain Innovation Playbook updates, online innovation and sales materials and publish timely updates to the field
Collaborate with IRI and Nielsen partners to set-up new items within the syndicated databases.
Set up reporting for the new item launches and track new item performance in-market for the first 2 years of launch. Track slotting and distribution associated with the new item launches
Work with the Hillshire BU to showcase their new items during Innovation Council and Innovation Week presentations
Support customer teams on key meetings & presentations as pertains to innovation and sampling
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree required
Experience: 5 years relevant CPG experience in Innovation, Customer/Trade Marketing, Sales, and/or Category Management
Special Skills: Strong communication, organizing and presentation skills.
Communication: Strategic influencing and communication skills
Computer skills: Advanced skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong Nielsen and IRI data/report building skills.
Travel: 15%
