\rFrontier Programs focus on breakthrough innovation through their unique combination of translational research and exceptional clinical care for children with highly complex conditions. The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) supports several innovative programs each year to catalyze their path to delivering novel diagnostic and treatment approaches for children that in many cases have few alternate options for their care.  \r\rThe Senior Strategic Planning Advisor, Frontier Programs actively collaborates with each Frontier program to develop its market strategy. The Senior Strategic Planning Advisor engages administrative and clinical leadership to develop analytical models, synthesize data, and prepare actionable reports and business plans. The Strategic Planning Advisor mines data from various sources including internal financial and patient databases, and external clinical, competitive, research and claims databases to conduct analyses to support program strategy development and tracking outcomes. The Strategic Planning Advisor keeps abreast of industry trends, continually communicates the impact of these trends to individual program and Frontier Program leadership, and identifies/triages new business opportunities based on interpretation of external trends and internal opportunities. The Strategic Planning Advisor also supports analysis of the overall portfolio of Frontier Programs, interfacing with multiple other departments including Marketing, Development, and the Office of Technology Transfer (OTT). The Strategic Planning Advisor supports core program administration, including selection of new programs.\r\rJob Responsibilities\r\r
\rThe Senior Strategic Planning Advisor, Frontier Programs will report to the AVP, Frontier & Other Programs. The specific responsibilities include: \r\r\rPartner with individual programs as they develop their go-to-market strategies\r\r\r\rIdentify strategic issues that need to be addressed\rConduct market and competitive research\rSynthesize findings into actionable reports\rPresent findings to clinical and program teams\rBe highly responsive to program leadership needs and maintain positive relationships with program business / operations associates and clinical leadership\r\r\r\r\r\rManage data and analytics to support Frontier program outcomes measurement and inform evolution of the Frontier programs initiative over time\r\r\r\rConduct analysis of overall program outcomes in collaboration with Finance and other departments\rAnalyze pipeline of new submissions to inform new program selection\rPerform market research on similar internal venture programs to gather best practices\r\r\r\r\r\rSupport enterprise strategies to accelerate Frontier Program business development\r\r\r\rCollaborate with Marketing, Communications, Development, Technology transfer, and others to develop introductory materials for new programs and onboard new programs\rAnalyze cross program efforts to identify opportunities to evolve programmatic support over time\r\r\r\r\r\rSupport program selection and administration\r\r\r\rSupport tracking individual outcomes in collaboration with program teams and Finance\rFacilitate administration of selection process (e.g., drafting communications, interface with critical supporting departments)\rProvide analytical support of proposal review process\r\r\rRequired Education and Experience\r\r
\rEducation:\r\rBachelor’s degree required.\r\rMaster’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or related field preferred\r\r\rMinimum three (3) years of experience in strategy, business planning and data analysis\rPrevious experience in healthcare required.\rHospital operations and financial planning experience preferred\rIntellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills with ability to synthesize disparate sources of data\rOutstanding analysis skills – both quantitative and qualitative\rOutstanding communication skills, including oral, written and presentation.  Ability to synthesize complex trends into easy-to-understand communications.\rAbility to work collaboratively in a complex matrixed organization\rAbility to understand and anticipate the needs of others and prepare work products appropriate for varied stakeholders\rMust be able to work independently to drive and complete projects in an efficient and timely manner\rCommitment to the highest ethical and professional standards; personal and professional integrity above reproach\r\r\rPreferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic\r\r
\r\r Masters degree preferred but not required \rhospital operations and financial planning experience preferred\r\r\rAdditional Technical Requirements\r\r
\r\rStrong database (SQL or Access) management and data mining skills\rAdvanced user of Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word\rIntermediate user of ArcGIS or similar mapping software\rKnowledge of demographic and planning databases such as Claritas and Truven\r\r\rAll CHOP employees who work in a patient building or who provide patient care are required to receive an annual influenza vaccine unless they are granted a medical or religious exemption.\r\rChildren's Hospital of Philadelphia is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for its patients, family members, visitors and employees.
