Job DescriptionThe Logistics Manager position is responsible for the overall supply chain management for our Auburn facility, including the organization and monitoring of suppliers, production, warehousing, packaging and shipping of goods.The goal is to manage this entire cycle for 100% on-time delivery of customer orders to ensure customer satisfaction.Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle (from unfinished raw material thru shipping of finished products)Create new procedures \/systems and streamline existing procedures\/systems for logistics activities, including maintaining metrics and analyzing data to assess performance and implement improvementsCoordinates production activities with Operations to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipmentAnalyze and prioritize sales order fulfillment with respect to capacity planning and material requirements; make recommendations based upon current inventory, demand, capacity, and material availabilityStrategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, and internal transportationApproves, manages and oversees packaging activities, including proposals and testing of new product\/new supplier packaging to achieve operational objectivesSupervises and coordinates external distribution activities for shipping both nationally and internationallyManage the coordination of material handling and packaging personnel on a daily basis, including examining work for accuracy, neatness, training needs, conformance to customer specifications, and productivityInterface and coordinate with various departments and personnel on all logistical activitiesReview and analyze production, quality control, maintenance and operational reports to determine causes of operating or production problemsManage both supplier and customer relations, including trouble shooting and resolution of issuesResponsible and has authority to take action to ensure that the Quality of the product meets or exceeds the customer\u2019s expectationsProxy for Master Scheduler and Materials CoordinatorAny other activities as assigned by the Director of Technical OperationsJob in industrial management\/engineering, supply chain management, or other related field required5-7 years of experience in a high volume production\/manufacturing environment required; auto manufacturing environment preferred;3-5 years of supervisory experience requiredProficient in Microsoft Office; Experience working with an ERP system required, SAP preferredAbility to frequently lift objects up to 40 lbs.Experience reading and interpreting blueprintsKnowledge of General OSHA StandardsAbility to work independently if neededWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and sitExposure to plant environment, including elements such as noise, dust, heat, or coldApplicants chosen for employment will be required to submit to a criminal background check and drug screeningCompany DescriptionWebsite http:\/\/ Headquarters Rua do Espido, , Portugal Company size 2500-4999 Employees Industry Automotive and Parts Mfg Year Founded 1980 Sodecia is an industrial corporation operating worldwide as a full service supplier in the chassis, powertrain, and body in white commodities.As a partner of the world's major OEM's, Sodecia aims to deliver integrated product solutions to meet the highest demands of our customers, by constantly adding value to their challenges, exceeding their expectations and taking part in their success.
