The Associate Director for SBDC Business Development for the Small Business Development Center, reporting directly to the Director of the Small Business Development Center, drives growth of the Center, with the ultimate goal of increasing the number of clients served, developing new programs and training's, and building corporate partnerships. The role is responsible for coordinating all consulting and training services for SBDC clients, overseeing SBDC client records, and the planning of workshops, training's, and classes. The Associate Director will assist the Center Director with the strategic planning of new training programs that support TU SBDC's entrepreneurial ecosystem and develop and implement marketing plans to inform the community of SBDC services and programs. The Associate Director will also be responsible for overseeing the SBDC incubator, including marketing to potential incubator clients and the evaluation of incubator client services. As part of the SBDC's leadership team, the Associate Director will be responsible for ensuring that SBA, PREP, Temple, and other stakeholder metrics are met and exceeded. The Associate Director for SBDC Business Development will represent the Center at outside meetings and functions, as well as with agencies that provide assistance to entrepreneurs and small businesses such as CDCs, CDFIs, banks, government agencies, professional organizations, etc. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field with four years of directly related experience that includes project and/or event management and non-credit education. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities:
*Demonstrated ability to professionally represent the Fox School and the Small Business Development Center in a variety of settings and relationships.
* Ability to comfortably speak before large and small audiences.
* Demonstrated understanding of small business development and entrepreneurship
* Proven ability to proactively manage comprehensive outreach efforts and demonstrated experience in strategic planning and project management.
* Strong leadership, communications and interpersonal skills necessary to develop strong internal relationships with key School/Center partners, as well as external relationships within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
* Ability to develop creative and innovative approaches to establishing business relationships.
* Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to collect and report on data.
* Good understanding of social media including Twitter and LinkedIn.
*Ability to travel to places that may not be accessible by public transportation.
* Master's degree.
* Experience with Salesforce, Banner Advancement, Neoserra or other CRM tool/software.
