Basic Function

The I&E Planner will be a member of the team responsible for planning and scheduling functions at the La Porte manufacturing site (olefins, polymers and acetyls). Specifically, this position will be responsible for planning maintenance I&E work requests to improve the site's maintenance work efficiency.

Roles & Responsibilities

Provides necessary planning information that ensures safe and efficient execution of I&E jobs in SAP that are in compliance with all HSE policies and procedures, PSM requirements, Maintenance procedures, and OE standards

Participates in the management of notification and work order backlog by reviewing backlog and planning list for duplicates, grouping notifications together that can be planned and worked as a single order that optimizes utilization of resources, insuring plans are in place that meet the timing requirements of the process units, and checking for understanding of scope through notification text and field walk through

Works closely with the maintenance specialist and supervisor to make appropriate adjustments to PMs and develop quality plans for more complex jobs.

Utilizes previous repair history, condition monitoring data and personnel feedback to ensure appropriate scope of work is developed.

Changes notification(s) to orders and builds or copies the job plan that clearly shows special instructions and required documentation, required skill crafts and duration, optimal logic between operations, and reserve or purchased necessary components

Participates in bidding process and requisitions third party services

Solicits feedback on executed jobs plans then makes necessary changes to ensure planning and work efficiencies continue to improve

Writes necessary change orders for third party services upon job completion.

Participates in the identification and implementation of reliability driven improvements

Strives for continual improvement through the utilization of applicable KPI’s

Proactively promotes the Maintenance and Operations Workflow Process (MOWP) and drives improvements

Min. Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in the chemical and/or refining industry

Minimum of 2 years planning experience or maintenance supervisor experience (step-up supervisor experience is acceptable)

Primavera experience a plus

Knowledge and experience of how to specify, troubleshoot, install and maintain plant mechanical equipment

Must understand how planning impacts personal and process safety and advocate safe work practices

In-depth knowledge of equipment drawings, specifications and QA/QC requirements

Must stay current with maintenance practices and technology.

Excellent interpersonal, organization, and communication skills (both oral and written) with the ability to effectively interact and communicate with all departments and levels of the organization

Must be proactive, self-motivated and demonstrate ability to handle multiple projects, changing priorities and frequently heavy workloads which may require work in addition to normal working hours

Flexible to plan at other sites in the region as needed

Ability to plan jobs outside of primary skill
