As the Medical Education Event
Planning Manager for Restorative Therapies Group (RTG), you will lead a temp of meeting planners in the execution of
Medical Education programs that support the overall strategic business
objectives of the RTG therapies.You will partner with each RTG MedEd Therapy Director as well as Marketing, Compliance
and other business unit functional teams in the execution of strategies support

A Day in the Life
You will have the responsiblility for tactical, operational andstrategic initiatives around RTG Medical Education program implementation forthe RTG therapies
Establish operational plans,implement policies and strategies, and lead process improvement activitiesfor the RTG Medical Education Planning team
Evaluate team results and make recommendationsfor future refinements, including budgetary, sourcing, strategies, and tacticsto achieve business goals
Maintain high level understanding of proceduralsolutions, therapy strategies and business changes within RTG as related to MedicalEducation events
Develop and manage the team budget,in partnership with Global Event Manager Director, to include monitoring andreview of all costs to ensure budget compliance, forecasting, AOP andcross-charges
Lead project and initiatives for theMedical Education Planning team and Global Event Management organization asneeded and appropriate to foster continued improvement and the successfulimplementation of RTG event needs
You will partners with GlobalEvent Management leadership and across other MDT business and greater Medtronicenterprise on best practice sharing, process improvement, synergies and vendormanagement
Ensure RTG Medical Education activities arein compliance with AdvaMed, corporateBCS,federal and state laws, as well as Legal and Regulatory requirements
Manage on-going relationships with RTGMedical Education Therapy Directors including planning, resourcing, and communicatingMedical Education event plan to Global event Management leadership in order toestablish baseline plan, track metrics
You will manage the daily responsibilities andperformance of direct reports and RTG Medical Education Planning team to ensurea high level of proficiency, responsiveness and customer service in theirmeeting execution and management of team initiatives
Mentor and develop talentwithin the RTG Medical Education Planning team; ensure engagement and inclusionat all levels throughout the team; to include training, performance management,individual development plans, objective setting, rewards and recognition,stretch assignments, etc.
Lead the RTG Medical Education Planning teamin process improvement efforts and strategies to support the business; followthrough to implementation of best practices
You will have ownership of responsibilities for the RTG Medical Education Planning team including, but not limitedto:workload allocation, 1:1s, teammeetings, Global Event Management leadership calls, etc.
General responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Plans and implements product exhibits at conventions, exhibits, sales conferences, and/or symposia.
Arranges for specific events at national conventions and may also participate in international conventions.
Works with vendors to arrange space, literature, hotels, equipment rental, and set-up and dismantling of the exhibit.
Plans and coordinates the routing of exhibits shipped for the convention program.
Develops plans, budgets, and generates reports providing information on cost-per-contact, audience profiles, and representatives' comments.
Works with marketing and sales departments on show selection decisions.
Remains current on new trends in exhibit design.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
5 yearsâ€™ experience in meeting planning,convention planning or other planning experience
Prior people management, mentoringrelationships or other experiences that lend to people management
Nice to Have
CMP (Certified Meeting Planner), CMM, HMCC
Ability tosuccessfully use a wide range of problem solving skills to overcome obstaclesand barriers and maintain project advancement to completion
Excels in situations where problems andissues faced are complex, difficult and undefined, and require detailedinformation gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem
Excellent planning, organizational andtime management skills
Strong project management skills - ability tohandle multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to understand and manage broad scopeas well as project details
Strong management, interpersonal,communication, and influence management skills
Strong problem/conflict resolution skills
Strong attention to detail
Proven track record of working successfullyin fast-paced global environment with tight timelines and firm deliverabledates.Ability to make quick, sounddecisions.
Expert working with Microsoft Office (Word,Excel and PowerPoint) and MDT systems (Siebel, Cvent, eCats, Expense Express,etc.)
Knowledge of meeting industryterminology and high-level meeting planning processes
Knowledge of healthcare and medical deviceindustry
Familiarity working within a regulatedindustry
Experience working with professionalsocieties, and congresses/tradeshows
