More and more, our academic clients need strategies and pathways that differentiate themselves from the competition. They need individuals who can take a fresh look at their strategic goals, long range strategic plans, master plans, space utilization and classroom \/ lab planning to help develop solutions that will create a sustained, successful future. We are looking for a Principal Planner, Education who can lead \/ support academic clients through a variety of planning scopes including strategic planning, master planning, cross campus planning, space utilization, new ways of learning space planning\/traditional learning space planning, and teaching lab planning. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The primary duties are to lead campus and learning space planning with our academic clients. Responsibilities include: \u2022Lead user group meetings of multiple stakeholders in the academic planning process. \u2022Represent and share thought leadership with our clients and project teams. \u2022Develop visualization communication with staff to convey planning ideas and principles. \u2022Embrace HDR\u2019s data-driven design culture while collaborating directly with our predictive analytics and computational design teams who support academic planning and programming with our clients. \u2022Partner with our business development and marketing teams to develop brand messaging, pursuit strategies and capture plans for our Education sector and for targeted clients. \u2022Participate in client interviews and work directly with clients to facilitate workshops, tours, synapse events, etc. Additional duties to include but not limited to: \u2022Develop our industry thought leadership. \u2022Provide added value to our clients and projects through industry research. \u2022Conduct literature searches and reviews. \u2022Develop research plans to further ideas on the future or current state of education. \u2022Author white papers. \u2022Present at conferences and develop related collateral marketing articles. The successful candidate will want to: \u2022Dedicate their time to promoting student-centered learning experiences and advancing vision, mission, and institutional goals for our academic clients. \u2022Serve as primary point of contact for clients with aptitude for building client trust and relationships. \u2022Collaborate with other of\ufb01ce leadership to develop, advance and implement the goals of the Education Sector. \u2022Actively network at professional events, extensive community-involvement, attend and speak at conferences. \u2022Lead and contribute to the research, ideation, development, and successful implementation of new product and service offerings for*LI-SA1 Qualifications Qualifications \u2022 Degree in Architecture, Higher Education or 10 years in the Business \/ Administrative Office of a college or university. \u2022Extensive knowledge of higher education facilities, including academic buildings, science technology, health education, engineering, STEM, libraries and campus planning for both public and private campuses. \u2022Ability to work effectively with clients and project teams. \u2022Experience with early phase marketing, pursuit development and organizing client interface. \u2022Ability to meet prospective clients and identify potential projects. \u2022Strong organizational, writing and editing skills. \u2022Research experience in academia, published research preferred. \u2022Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project). \u2022Effective and memorable communication skills. \u2022An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
