Through a next generation demand driven approach, this leader helps advance the company’s strategic imperatives to deliver margin expansion and to improve service to exceed customer expectations.  The Associate Manager, Demand Planning is a critical member of a team of experts dedicated to the Newell Divisions within North America and supports global geographies to develop and advance the demand planning strategy. This team is responsible for supporting and setting the agenda for approximately 250 supply chain leaders and demand planner constituents. The span of support responsibility for this role is approximately 50 supply chain leaders and demand planner constituents but can vary depending upon the specific initiative.The Associate Manager, Demand Planning executes the E2E Planning team’s mission to deliver industry leading E2E planning capabilities enhancing forecast accuracy and compliance. This role expands and accelerates the E2E Planning Team’s foundation of people, process, analytics and technology in the following key areas: (1) Assess and Build Capabilities of All Division Planners, (2) Develop/Deploy Standard and Effective S&OP Processes, (3) Enable Full Adoption of Data Science Statistical Forecasting Tools, and (4) Deliver a Roadmap of Success for SAP IBP.Specific Responsibilities • Lead the execution of demand planning capability building projects and implementation of process and best practices in conjunction with assigned division supply chain teams.• Contribute directly to the maximization of demand planning metrics (forecast accuracy and attainment) and demonstrate correlation to business performance by:o Identifying and deploying repeatable Demand Planning processes and best practices across assigned divisions.o Demonstrating the business impact and benefit of Demand Planning improvements.o Delivering sophisticated Demand Planning diagnostic tools to facilitate analysis, decision making and to improve supply chain key performance metrics.o Identify & develop strategies & best practices as primary routes to drive & sustain improvement.o Helping to shape the design of data collection, insights, modeling and reporting processes to improve management and decision making, in close partnership with Data Science.• Contribute to the formation of a strategic Demand Planning roadmap to define future state capability and determine Division-specific paths to achieve Newell Brands strategic goals.• Participate in Communities of Practice (Performance Improvement Knowledge Teams) for Demand Planning as the route to identify needs, define solutions and craft paths for execution to meet Newell’s goals.• Drive strategies, methodologies and best practices that ensure excellence in demand planning – including statistical forecasting, predictive analytics, irregular/regular demand projection, scenario planning and revenue/cost projection.• Contribute to and disseminate a Newell Brands playbook for Demand Planning with process definition, relevant examples, templates to ensure full transparency of best practice ways of working.• Ensure full adoption and on-going refinement of PowerBI reporting tools in conjunction with Data Science and IT.• In partnership with the Supply Planning Team, IT and IBP Business Integration, lead the Divisional implementation and refinement of Demand Planning elements of SAP IBP (Integrated Business Planning) to ensure complete alignment within the business teams.• In partnership with the Supply Planning Team and S&OP Leadership, lead the assigned Divisional implementation and refinement of an industry leading, global S&OP process to ensure optimal decision making. • Maintain transparency of Demand Planning performance with the overall organization and ensure delivery of performance results.• Develop routes and methodologies to increase effectiveness of our Demand Planning resource through portfolio segmentation (importance and predictability) and value-add measurements. • Develop detailed project plans to achieve project objectives within or across assigned Divisions.• Collaborate with cross-functional project team members to ensure delivery of project milestones and achieve expected productivity objectives. • Document project deliverables and develop training materials for use in educating assigned Division or Newell Integrated Supply Chain Optimization (NISCO) team members. • Own the skill assessment, training and education of assigned Division associates to build overall Demand Planning capability.','!*!The Candidate:The successful candidate will be an established practitioner with a proven track record of delivering results within the End-to End Supply Chain with specific emphasis on demand planning. The successful candidate must be technically competent possessing solid business acumen with a very good understanding of statistics. The candidate must have experience successfully leading change and creating buy-in for complex initiatives. This person should be collaborative, hands-on and comfortable with tactical execution while working on projects of strategic importance. Key Qualifications:• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Management or related technical field, MBA preferred• A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a demand planning and forecasting department• Experience in S&OP implementation , ERP implementations, APO / IBP • A minimum of 3 years experience in Supply Chain systems including but not limited to SAP, Oracle, JDE, SAS, Manugistics, and Teradata. Advanced knowledge of statistical modeling and demand systems (e.g. SAP APO, JDA, Logility, etc.) is preferred• 2 years experience leading or executing projects in a supply chain vertical or across the End-to-End Supply Chain• Demonstrated experience in successfully implementing best practices and processes in a demand planning organization• Understanding of the requirements of manufacturing, logistics, marketing, sales and finance• Working knowledge of the levers available to deliver supply chain savings across the Demand Planning vertical• Ability to lead by collaboration, influence people, and communicate well across multiple organizational functions• Strong Character – ability to champion the right decision in difficult situations• Demonstrated track record of effectively building partnerships and managing and resolving challenges• Advanced level skills developing analysis in Excel , PowerBI ,and/or MS Access • Intermediate level skills developing presentations in MS PowerPoint• Ability to work with and connect with all levels of associates• Strong planning & organizing skills• Initiative & follow-up, including a strong sense of autonomy• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously• Ability to travel approximately 50%Newell Brands (NASDAQ: NWL) is a leading global consumer goods company with a strong portfolio of well-known brands, including Paper Mate, Sharpie, Dymo, EXPO, Parker, Elmers, Coleman, Marmot, Oster, Sunbeam, FoodSaver, Mr. Coffee, Graco, Baby Jogger, NUK, Calphalon, Rubbermaid, Contigo, First Alert, and Yankee Candle.
