Amgen is seeking a Strategic Planning & Operations Manager at its office in Thousand Oaks, CA to join the Device & Final Drug Product Technologies (D&FDPT) organization. This individual will report to the head of the Device Strategic Planning & Operations function.This role will support the D&FDPT organization by overseeing budget management and forecasting, managing strategic initiatives, performing advanced data analysis and overseeing critical internal\/external partnerships. The Manager is responsible to stay informed of best practices and provide innovative, impactful ideas to optimize processes to support the organization\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s growth strategies. Responsibilities Include:Work with project and department leaders to forecast quarterly budgets based on strategic prioritiesCollaborate with project and department leaders to manage budgets on an on-going basisWork with senior management and key stakeholders to develop annual budget for the new yearCreate and execute all budget-related communicationsImplement innovative and efficient process improvements as neededOwn and drive sophisticated data analysis initiatives that will generate impactful and actionable insightsDeploy \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcbest in class\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 project management on all initiatives including \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcspecial projects\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 as neededProvide regular reports, dashboards and presentations that clearly summarize results and implications\/recommendations to key stakeholders to inform decision makingTurn unstructured business issues\/requests into appropriate action plans and projects that result in high quality, meaningful and actionable deliverablesOwn, build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders; proactively seek buy-in and provide on-going collaboration and consultation to inform how best to address business needsBasic Qualifications:Doctorate degreeORMaster\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s degree and 2 years of business analytics or finance experienceORBachelor\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s degree and 4 years of business analytics or finance experienceORAssociate\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s degree and 10 years of business analytics or finance experienceORHigh school diploma \/ GED and 12 years of business analytics or finance experiencePreferred Qualifications:\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 Master\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Degree in business or finance, 5 years directly relevant experienceSuperior organizational skills and attention to detailDeep knowledge of cost accounting and budget management strategyDemonstrated ability to think and act strategically to support key business decisionsExcellent analytical skills\u00e2\u20ac\u201dability to translate disparate and sometimes ambiguous data sets into actionable insights and recommendationsStrong oral, written and presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiencesProficient facilitation, negotiation, problem-solving and change management skillsAdvanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word; working knowledge of business intelligence and predictive modeling tools, such as SAS and SpotfireSuperior ability to work in a self-directed manner while balancing a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and competing demandsAmgen focuses on areas of high unmet medical need and leverages its expertise to strive for solutions that improve health outcomes and dramatically improve people\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s lives.
