Tessco Technologies, a leader in the wireless industry, is seeking a
Commercial Demand/Supply Planner.
In this position, you will be responsible for all forecasting activities associated with assigned commercial customers and
managing supply to meet the projected demand for these customers.
Develop customer and/or market specific forecast
Understand customer consumption, inventory, and planning process
Using data from customer and order history with TESSCO, develop customer specific consumption forecast and purchasing forecast.
Improve internal and external forecasting process
Drive customer specific Collaborative Planning Forecast & Replenishment (CPFR) process to reconcile significant variances and refine forecast process.
Supply inventory management
Use DRP to plan and execute procurement to meet demand signals for each distribution center.
Maintain strong working relationship and communications with suppliers to confirm shipping schedules and ensure on-time delivers
Identify and manage potential inventory obsolescence to minimize write-offs
Conduct root cause analysis for supply chain issues/variances and perform define corrective action plans to avoid reoccurrence.
Support Program Management (PM) and Product Marketing Management (PMM) with business and supply chain strategy.
Contribute to cross-functional Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) with customers and suppliers
Prepare relevant materials and facilitate research and discussion
Ensure that all documentation for the sales forecasting processes and systems is up-to-date and complies with company standards.
Use and maintain the Demand Foresight (DF) software and other forecasting/procurement tool
Correct/improve computer forecast within DF as needed
Review and maintain optimal safety stock setting within DRP
Review and maintain item level lead-time within ERP
Use Forecast Input functionality (FORIN) to drive incremental forecast in the system
Sense-check statistical forecasts and highlight any unexpected trends or forecasts outliers.
Identify relevant market-related data and competitive intelligence
Integrate customer specific market intelligence into the forecasts
Continuously improve the sales forecasting processes and systems, ensuring that forecast accuracy is consistently improving
Review past forecasting performance and identify major forecast variances
Lead root-cause-analysis initiatives and formulate actions and plans
Identify and lead the implementation of process enhancement opportunities to improve forecast accuracy.
Total Supply Chain cost reduction
Working with suppliers, customers and internal teams to optimize supply chain process
Reduce total lead time
Reduce product cost
Reduce freight cost
Strong analytical, organizational, decision making, and presentation skills
Experience or education in the demand planning/forecasting function
Proficiency in statistics, forecasting, and forecasting methods
Strong interpersonal skills and can interact effectively with all teams and major customers affecting the forecast process.
Two years of experience in the industry is preferred
Experience in the supply planning function is preferred
4-year college degree or equivalent combination of skills and experience
