With limited supervision, manages the functions and/or resources of the strategic planning function. Provides consultation and evaluation of new business opportunities and the development and implementation of strategy/planning initiatives.
Reviews, analyzes, and ensures the accuracy of planning and volumes reports for presentation to management and senior leadership. Is responsible for accurate, consistent, and timely reporting.
Develops proactive ideas about and implements plans for creating operational efficiencies within the Planning Department.
Recommends strategic alternatives for new program development (or discontinuation), service mix and capacity/technology investments.
Completes research for, consults with and advises senior leadership, directors and managers to identify and characterize strategic and business needs at various levels of the network.
Leads or participates in complex inter-departmental projects in collaboration with staff, physicians and their practice representatives, representatives of joint venture firms, and external consultants such as developing business plans for new initiatives, new services and/or joint ventures.
Handles and resolves issues that jeopardize the success of the assigned area
Provides support in development of strategic plans and integration of the plan into the operational and budgeting cycles.
Identifies program opportunities, develops strategies, prepares support documentation, and presents findings.
Provides assistance with the implementation of strategic planning and development processes.
Collaborates with administrative, clinical, financial and planning staff to develop strategic and business plans, capital requests, integrated strategic financial plans and management reports.
Researches local and national trends in demographics, health care delivery systems, technology and providers. Analyzes local market trends and competitor plans to estimate and project market share overall and in various service lines.
Oversees the collection of data and preparation of reports on services, activities and community benefits for senior management.
Develops models to project future utilization, volumes and market share of services in the community. Prepares and make presentations of findings to management and staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.','!*!Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree is required. Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or Engineering is preferred.
Experience: Five (5) years of experience with planning, analytics and project management responsibilities is required. Preferred degree can substitute for two (2) of the required years of experience. Prior consulting experience is preferred.
Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: None.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
