Director of TDHErnDept./Program: TDHE Housing ProgramsrnDivision: TDHE Housing ProgramsrnReports To: Executive Director of Tribal Administration and TDHE Housing BoardrnSupervises: Housing Assistant,  Housing Representative, Safehome Construction Coordinator and Safehome Construction WorkersrnEmployment Status: Full TimernFLSA Status: ExemptrnSchedule: 40 hours/weekrnPreference: TERO Ordinance 2017-01, P.L. 93-638rnRevision Date: 08/10/2018rnJob SummaryrnThe Director of TDHE acts in a key leadership role within **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. whose primary responsibility is the oversight of the Tribe's Housing Programs.  The Director provides guidance to the Executive leadership and the Kenaitze/Salamatof TDHE Board in planning Housing Programs strategies, goals, initiatives, and structure in alignment with the Tribe's values and vision.  The Director reports to the TDHE Housing Board and Executive Director of Tribal Administration and responds to budgetary and performance measures, achievement of goals and strategies, and results of monitoring functions.  This position works towards and encourages collaboration with the Tribe's programs and outside agencies to carry out optimal customer (un'ina) care and support services.rnEssential FunctionsrnrnResponsible for the Housing Programs strategic and annual planning.rnOversight of the Housing Programs: Assistance, Development and Safe Homes.rnOversight of the Toyon Villa Apartment Complex operations.rnResponsible for implementing the directives of the TDHE Board.rnResponsible for the development of policies and procedures for Housing Support Programs.rnOversight of programs' dashboards, grants and budgets.rnResponsible for award administration and funding compliance.rnResponsible for efficient and effective utilization of program resources.rnProvides guidance, mentoring and support to staff.rnCollaborates with staff to identify the needs of the programs for education and training.rnCollaborates with staff to ensure the Tribe's representation at essential local, state and federal Housing Program meetings and activities.rnResponsible for customer service and quality assurance in the Housing Program and resolution of un'ina concerns.rnResponsible for staying informed of housing support program trends, and recommending changes in service delivery to the Executive leadership and TDHE Board.rnResponsible to communicate to staff Tribal updates, events, and activities.rnEnsure workplace safety guidelines are followed for staff, contractors and un'ina.rnrnIt is the intent of this job description to highlight the essential functions of the position; and grant compliance.rnExperience in budget management and project management.rnExperience in policy and procedure development & implementation.rnExperience in public speaking and presentation of housing related information.rnrnLicense/CertificationrnrnValid Alaska driver license and must remain insurable under the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s policy.rnrnSpecial SkillsrnrnUnderstanding of carpentry field.rnrnPreferred QualificationsrnrnKnowledge of the HUD NADHASDA Program.rnKnowledge of Tribal government functions.rnKnowledge and experience working with Alaska Native/American Indian people.rn
