Product Planning Senior Manager','19000658','!*! GCI's Product Planning Senior Manager role is to maximize the success of the organization’s product offerings by owning responsibility for aligning product planning with company and product portfoilios strategy, coordination of rolling roadmaps, owning all aspects of IPF including training, oversight of the process and implementation as well as ownership of the product catalog and coordination with Netcracker and BOT for appropriate billing and system requirements submissions. This is a senior level position; functioning as the subject matter expert requiring the ability to perform highly complex or unique special work assignments under deadlines and operating constraints. This position will have ownership responsibilities for some product planning activities. Requires advanced ability to perform development and implementation of projects, programs, and procedures of general organizational impact. Increased product and market knowledge is expected, relative to more junior positions. Must have the experience to provide functional/technical guidance to lower level staff while fostering teamwork within area of responsibility. Essential Duties : Oversee the quality of product launches by helping teams submit appropriate billing system requirementsEnsure that billing system releases are coordinated with product roadmapsApprove billing system releases on behalf of product managementCross organizational review and updates of the 24 rolling product roadmapCross organizational go to market coordination for product launches & marketing plan alignmentTrack and Coordinate active projects across the organization to include EPM status reportingOwner of the IPF process, including phase gate management, intake reviews and project stand-ups. Also, champion of the IPF process improvements, cross functional staff training and process oversight and quality assurance.Rolling 24 Month Product Roadmap. Ensure cross organizational review and updates of the rolling 24 month product roadmaps are completed timely with the input of the correct individuals within Product Management and other departments. Ensure that the roadmap accounts for go-to market coordination with marketing and other departments if needed, as well as to ensure tasks and projects are in sync across various views and reports. Assist with the coordination of active projects across the organization to include EPM Status. Understand NC releases and how they inpact any item in the roadmap.IPF Process. Assist in the meeting management of all IPF gate phase reviews by facilitating the meeting and taking appropriate notes, including making adjustment to project status if needed.Product Catalog. General knowledge of the product catalog and the process needed for updates. SPOC for Product / BOT Coordination, own go/no-go decisions for product with appropriate consultation as necessary, Staff trainingLeadership. Accept responsibility for the success or failure of the function’s responsibilities. Guide the outcome of large initiatives with material impact to the organization’s financial success. Contribute thought leadership by participating in market conversations and industry events. Minimum of twelve years of experience in a relevant field required; to include Technology Sales and/or Marketing, IT Development and/or Operations, Software Development, Technology Engineering, Financial Analysis, and Data Analytics. Telecommunications industry experience preferred. Familiarity with common product development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall is preferred. Product Management and/or Product Development experience is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor Degree in Business, Accounting, and Economics, Industrial Management/Engineering or related field is required. Or, in addition to minimum experience required; a combination of relevant work experience and/or education sufficient to perform the duties of the job may substitute to meet the total years required on a year-for-year basis.
sedentary office work with some travel to company locations where indoor and
outdoor work may be required. Physical
effort may include stooping, kneeling, touching, feeling, reaching, standing,
walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing,
using hand tools and repetitive motions.
Clarity of vision to see near, mid-range, and color. Ability to lift and
carry up to 20 lbs.
Working Conditions: Majority of work is performed in Anchorage
with projects both in and out of town.
Position requires travel to remote locations (which may include
traveling in small aircraft) in Alaska for site surveys, meetings and contract
company and its subsidiaries operate in a 24/7 environment providing critical
services to Alaskans and may need to respond to public health and safety
matters or other business
emergencies. Due to business needs employees, may be contacted outside of the
normal business hours to respond to the immediate emergency. You will be
requested to provide an emergency after hours contact numbers.
Driving Requirements (if applicable): Must possess and maintain a valid
driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record. Must be able to drive, as
use of personal vehicle for transportation between various company facilities
