Currently seeking a Philadelphia based International Tax Planning Manager for a major manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will possess 5-7 years’ international and federal tax experience in BIG 4 or at a large multinational corporation.
Requirements of the International Tax Planning Manager
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA or MST required, Graduate degree preferred
5-7 years’ international and federal tax experience in BIG 4 or at a large multinational corporation
Must have more experience with tax planning/extensive experience with Substantial Contribution and less with compliance
Experience with 954/Foreign Base Company Income concepts and practice
Experience with gathering and calculating SubF on a regional and global level
Experience with 861-8, Form 5471/Form 8858, and ASC 740
Understanding of U.S. tax rules/reporting requirements to prepare and review all necessary disclosure requirements attributable to international acquisitions, dispositions, and liquidations of business units
Strong knowledge of US International Tax concepts
Strong research, analytical, and documentation skills
Strong financial modeling skills using Excel as well as proficiency with Word and PowerPoint
Strong project management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize competing projects
Responsibilities of the International Tax Planning Manager
Plan, develop, and implement various tax planning initiates to maximize corporation's cash flows and minimize the effective tax rate.
Manage and provide transactional support to quantify U.S. tax implications on various international transactions including mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and liquidations of business units.
Lead or assist in various repatriation strategies to return cash to the U.S. from various jurisdictions.
Communicate/consult with other team members and external advisors regarding planning opportunities and reporting matters.
Lead, research, and prepare memorandums to support U.S. tax filing positions.
Participate in the development of and manage step plans relating to international tax transactions.
Manage/work with various outside tax advisers on special projects/international tax transactions.
Review value chain/transfer pricing planning/valuations relating to planning transactions.
Manage preparation of quarterly schedules, including FTC utilization and other tax attributes.
Identify opportunities/manage international planning initiatives.
Oversee and review all aspects of U.S. tax compliance and reporting requirements.
Manage/review all aspects of foreign tax credit computations and report foreign source income and expense apportionment on Form 1118.
Manage/oversee U.S. tax attributes to assist in U.S. tax reporting and international tax planning.
Respond to IRS IDR relating to international tax issues.
Assist in international portion of the U.S. tax provision, including local country tax provisions and ASC
