Georgia-Pacific in Palatka, Florida has an exciting opportunity for a talented Angel Soft Maintenance Planner
to enhance maintenance and operations at our Palatka, Florida facility, specifically will support a new start up project for new Angel Soft tissue lines.
Located just south of Jacksonville and west of St. Augustine, FL, the Palatka mill employs about 850 people has three tissue paper machines as well as several converting lines and produces consumer tissue products such as bath tissue and paper towels sold under the Georgia-Pacific brand names of Angel Soft®, Quilted Northern®, Brawny®, and Sparkle®. The Maintenance Planner monitors equipment condition, implements asset strategies to maximize equipment reliability, and prioritizes work for execution on their assets. In addition, they develop job plans for maintenance crews to execute and manage material procurement in support of these plans. This position reports to the Product Stream Leader and works closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Maintenance and Operations Supervisors, Craftspeople, Engineering Managers, Operations, and Contractors to create the greatest long-term value for GP.
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Assume complete ownership of the line(s) assigned to their care.
Develop Asset Strategies for their equipment to maximize equipment reliability and provide for a continuous stream of deficiency information from operators and mechanics.
Monitor equipment running condition and deficiency reports from others. Use this information and their expertise to prioritize work for execution on their line.
Provide detailed maintenance shutdown and daily work planning and materials procurement for their area of responsibility.
Support the development of team member capability to perform simple repair and changeover tasks, freeing mechanics to complete higher skill repair tasks.
Maintenance plans will be developed using Ventyx Passport CMMS.
Material coordination that includes expediting, quoting prices and ensuring right parts are available for jobs.
Contract management of contractors including scope of work, reviewing quotes and creating payment authorizations.
This individual will also be required to direct mill maintenance crews and contractors on maintenance shutdown days.
Extensive communications with craftspeople, mill operations, contractor representatives and materials suppliers will occur daily.
Safe work execution will be promoted through development of detailed Job Hazard Analysis documentation and compliance with all Georgia-Pacific permitting and procedures.
The Planner will be responsible for continuously updating the information in the CMMS, such as Bills of Materials, Catalog IDs, and specifications for ordering.
Expand the use of model work orders to capture repetitive work so that the work can be optimized and craftsmen productivity maximized.
The Planner will be required to perform rotating weekend on-call duty for the entire mill and may spend time covering the duties of other mechanical leaders.
Build effective job plans for mill craftspeople and contractors.
What You Will Need:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 3 years experience in a heavy industrial maintenance department or manufacturing environment
A minimum of 1 year of experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System
Experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project
3 years maintenance planning experience
What Will Put You Ahead?
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
5 years planning experience
5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of the Passport CMMS system
Experience working in pulp and paper manufacturing or a mechanical packaging operation.
