Position: Seeking a full-time Paraplanner to join a holistic financial planning firm. Location: Lutherville, MDFirm: Academy Financial, Inc.Job Type: Full Time, Permanent (should not be considered a precursor to becoming a financial planner)Start Date: As early as March 1st, 2018Responsibilities: The roles and responsibilities of the paraplanner are intended to evolve as they gain more experience, more education, and assimilate with the team. · Manage the client review meeting process, including both meeting preparation and follow-up.· Support various projects related to business development.· Assist in the development of financial plans or other planning related tools.· Conduct independent research on various financial planning-related topics, as needed.· To be familiar with various financial planning products and tools available from wholesalers and 3rd parties.· Communicate and coordinate with various internal resources, organizational resources, and external financial organizations and 3rd parties as necessary to conduct business.· Communicate directly with clients to help facilitate the processing of business.· Assist in processing applications, forms, and various other paperwork as necessary to conduct business.· Work closely with planners (and sometimes clients) to maintain up-to-date and accurate client files (including documenting and updating client records on a regular basis).· Develop and maintain knowledge of the financial industry, trends, systems, processes, etc. and provide insight and analysis that bring value to the practice and to its clients.· Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:· Bachelor’s Degree (Degree in finance or related field preferred)· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in financial planning or related industry.· Applicant must have obtained, or have willingness to obtain the Series 7 designation, Series 66 designation, and State Life & Health Insurance license. This will be a requirement to have within first 6 months of role.· Ability to work well in a team environment.· Ability to adapt to different practices and personalities of different planners on the team.· Ability to work remotely with planners in different locations.· Ability to communicate professionally through writing, on the telephone, and in-person.· Ability to work on many different projects at the same time – including the ability to prioritize tasks.· Positive, friendly, and professional demeanor.· Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and aptitude to work with multiple financial planning software*Interested applicants please contact Aaron Kelly at
