Responsible for daily planning of transportation, for finished goods and\/or raw\/packaging materials through the Supply Chain, including both customer and stock transfer orders. Understand and execute defined financial goals and metrics related to transportation management, including but not limited to: load factors, mode usage and route guide compliance. Participate on project teams as needed and train new employees on systems and processes. In addition to Transportation Planning responsibilities, provide senior level duties to include training new Transportation Planners, providing system and process expertise during the work day, assume more complex responsibilities, lead projects involving other areas of the company and backing up the manager during absences. Participate and lead transportation related projects and testing, related to both transportation system changes and changes to systems that interface with the transportation system. Maintenance of pool schedules, IDOCS, SAP transit times and department share point site. Train and mentor new employees. Training to include software training on both the transportation management system and SAP in addition to working through the correct contacts with other groups. Execute daily coverage for loads shipping between facilities and to our Customers. Interface with facility daily on issues regarding loads not covered or picked up. Serve as key point of contact for communication back to customer service and inventory deployment regarding carrier failures or issues. Address daily reports showing loads appointed for delivery after the Required Delivery Date (RDD) or that have no delivery appt. day prior to the RDD. Organize and consolidate LTL\/TL shipments into truckloads while reducing transportation expense. Adhere to route guide compliance and strive to utilize awarded carriers in an effort to mitigate transportation costs. Escalate and identify issues to Transportation Planning Managers regarding facility, carrier or customer trends. Report and analyze data to show root cause lane issues by carrier or customer. Understanding of FTI reporting, and extensive knowledge of excel Work with cross functional groups in support of metrics improvement and working on customer related issues. Work with sites and customer service on order issues at the warehouse level. Retrigger and understand key points to get orders to show from OTM to SAP. Link CPU orders and making sure all changes get transmitted to the warehouse. Position Qualification: Bachelor\u2019s Degree preferred in Supply Chain Management or related field 3 years of transportation experience. Good working knowledge of FTI and how to generate new reports Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Oracle, SAP and analytical skills. Ability to interface with other functional areas including Inventory Deployment, Customer Service and Project Teams. Thorough understanding of rail and motor carrier transportation management terms and concepts. Proven problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to think outside the box. Ability to lead, influence and collaborate with peers. Self-driven to look for opportunities and address issues. Accept, adapt and influence change management.
